The portal Discover Moscow will describe the performances and concerts of the capital’s theaters during the Great Patriotic War, as reported on the website of the mayor and the government of the capital.
The portal Discover Moscow has launched the cultural and historical special project Moscow Theatres During the Great Patriotic War, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory. It presents archival photographs and letters from the front, which have preserved information about how the leading theatres of the capital supported compatriots at the war and home front.
Notably, a separate section on the project webpage is given to each of the theatres. In particular, these are the Bolshoi and Maly Theaters, the Moscow Art Academic Theater (now Moscow Chekhov Art Theater), The Moscow State Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theater, the Lenin Komsomol Theater (now the Lenkom Theater of Mark Zakharov), the Theater of the Revolution (now the Mayakovsky Theater) and the Satire Theater.
