For the first time, the Russian Embassy in Japan held the Garden of Memory event commemorating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The Russian diplomatic mission will now grow seedlings of three Russian lilac varieties: Marshal Zhukov, Dream and Olimpiada Kolesnikova. In Japan, lilac is a rare plant and is hardly found: only over the last two years, can it be seen in flower shops for a very short time in April.
